    Hmmm... I don't have any problem to go up to 450F in about 15-20 minutes without doing anything special.  I ignite with 1/4 starter cube and I don't use the DFMT.

    @Lit - I know you said fresh OO was your lump for this cook. Have you tried the same bag in other eggs to see how fast they start? Any possibility that your bag of lump may have taken on a little moisture? If it starts that slow all the time, then I suppose that's not the problem. I know I've had that happen to me before. Left it out on the deck overnight and we had heavy dew.

    Sorry to bring this thread back up, but I want to make sure to buy the right size high que for my mm. 

    Does it it take the same one as the large?  I found another forum message that said that, but just want to double check.
