BGE Medium - stand/hanger for Skewers and Poultry

Decided to custom make a stainless steel stand/hanger for skewers, poultry and apparently bacon... turned out great! Does anyone else have something similar?

That's cool!  I haven't seen such a thing.  Great work!

Wow that is really cool.  @Jeremiah did something similar for a chicken hanger.

There was some discussion once about cooking a brisket vertically so that the point is up and the flat is down.  I wonder if you could do something like that with your rig?  You may need to rig up a "spider" like piece so you could make an indirect piece below the fire ring.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

@SmokeyPitt that would be possible, might try something with a brisket in the weekend, using meathooks!

Very nice work!  Love the clean welds and radii on everything.

  • Very creative!  On the direct cook of the skewers, was there uneven cooking?  It looks like the bottom would cook way faster.  Or did you rotate it somehow?

  • I would BUY one of those if it came available. Nice work.

I made sure to keep 3-4 inches to the charcoal and the advantages of the egg gives it all even temperature.

@Biggreenpharmacist I have no plans to manufacture and sell it unfortunately, so please go ahead and make your own versions. I'm grateful for feedback to improve further and when I upgrade to a Large or XL I will upsize the stand

Cool idea. Long skewers which rested against the fire ring and the top of your rig diagonally might be cool for doing Brazilian bbq type cooks.

Picanha is in the plans... One of the reasons I wanted to build something for skewered,  the other was for tandoori .

Tandoori was the first thing I thought of when I saw the skewers hanging on it. Looks great, I'd love to have a frame like that for my XL and matching skewers to go with .
