This was a Cook's bone in shank ala' Egret's recipe. Man-O-Man was it delicious - AS ALWAYS! Later this week after a couple more feasts I will carve the remainder and freeze in Food Saver bags for hassle free meals in the future. Then so there is no waste at all I'll be making a pot of my bodacious ham and bean soup which will yield 7 pints of soup.
All kidding aside a 10 pounder is just right for the two of us!

Looks good. I did a 20 pounder last night for today's lunch. We had 6 adults and 3 kids and everyone took some home and I probably have 8# left. (We had a turkey too) I'll definitely be making that soup. Bookmarked that other thread. First time I've mad that ham and it got rave reviews. Anytime my dad says something is good, I know I've hit a homer. I did add a little red pepper flake to counter some of the sweet as my FIL always chooses the less sweet of my cooks.
