Thermometer help

I don't have a good thermometer yet, either for meat temp or surface.   I know the Thermapen and Thermapop are great, but was initially thinking of probe to monitor throughout cook.

I found this Maverick in Home Depot for $39.99 and was about to buy but decided to check reviews first. Problem is, I can't find any references to the HD-377 anywhere on line. I checked the thermometer reviews on Amazingribs.com as well but still no sign of this one, unless the "HD-377" isn't the actual model #.   Anyone know if this is a decent one?
