Removing from Nest Handler to place lg BGE in table

Okay.  I put this thing together back in 2010 and I don't remember too much about the experience.  Is there anything I need to watch out for when trying to disassemble the Nest Handler so that I may place my Egg in its new home, which is a table?  For example, do I have to loosen any of the bands in the process?

  • The nest handler is only connected to the Egg in two places on the hinge.  Remove the brackets and Egg will lift out of the nest.  You can then take handler off the nest if you want, or leave it attached.

OP, are you looking to sell the handler?

I was looking at that when I got home tonight and it just seemed like I must be missing something--seemed too simple--thanks for confirming.   Now I'll just have to see if my wife and I can handle the move or if I need to remove the top due to its weight.  (obviously I'll remove the innards first, before trying)

@Eggcelsior I hadn't thought about that but I sure don't see why I'd be needing it anymore.  It's not like I see myself taking it on a trip or anything.  Especially, since I have the KJ Jr.  I will keep you in mind.  Biggest concern would be shipping.  Sometimes it's not real economical to ship since I live in Alaska.  I'm not sure how much that could be broken down.  I'll know more after I take on the chore of relocating it to my new table this weekend.

I was going to say do what I did a while back.....  Bribed two high school football players with some ribs if they helped me move the egg.....  Worked like a charm!!!

@mahenryak, jump on Amazon and get a Pot Lifter.  You may not use it very often after moving the Egg, but it sure makes it easy-peasy for two people to move something like that.

That's it.  If you never move your egg again, it's worth the price for any  future projects like that for which you might need it.

Done.  I've ordered it.  Thanks a bunch and I can see us using this for our landscaping chores throughout the summer.  Again, thank you very much!

Way cool, @mahenryk, I'm in Eugene, 40 miles south.
An old (real old) high school classmate of mine retired as an assistant dean at OSU.  Good school in a real neat town.

Nice.  I'm, of course, familiar with Eugene, as well.  I actually stayed in the tower at Weatherford Hall.  Don't know if you happen to know that structure but it appears in the foreground a lot during misc. sporting events aired on tv.  Back when I was there (early '80s) we were given a lot of flexibility in remodeling those rooms.  That was kind of the draw since there were newer dorms on campus that attracted most students.  Okay.  Enough reminiscing.
