Picanha or House Special at a Brazilian Steakhouse
Anyone have a source for this? It's our favorite cut when we go to a Brazilian steakhouse. My teenage twins and I went last night and that and the flank were easily our favorites. I sure would like to throw a Picanha on the Egg.

It is available in the US if your butcher will order it. Sometimes Costco here carries it. It is sold as Top Sirloin Cap or sometimes coulotte steak/roast. One of our local markets here carries it from time to time. I think the IMPS number is 184D.

Ok. My go to local butcher closed up shop after nearly 50 years (his dad started it) in Jan to go into his mission work full time. I was bummed. I will check in with our Ole Timey Meat Market and see if they can special order. If no other way u can buy a whole top sirloin, cut out the cap and cut up the rest for steaks and roasts. Its called punta trasera in some places.

If you go to an Indian or Afghani market you can get the flat skewers for next to nothing.
