Fools Day Meal

Way out of normal flight pattern this bird, from one of my old squadrons, flew over several times.

Sides.
Cauliflower rice. Cauliflower in the food processor, drizzled with EVOO, some fresh ground pink Himalayan salt and coarse ground pepper. Spread out evenly on a pan and in the oven at 425℉ until lightly browned. Then mixed in sauteed sweet onions & garnished with fresh cilantro.

Fresh deviled eggs dusted with @MeatChurch Honey Hog Sweet.
Plated.

Great cook Blake, I'm inspired as always. Seems like every time I walk into Publix I'm spending 50 to 100$ just to cook a meal for three. I love cooking and I always want the best recipes and ingredients. I guess my question to everyone is do you guys budget your meals out? I just go to this forum, find a good pic, and then go buy the supplies. Don't get me wrong, you pay for what you get and I am building up my staples for cooking. I should probably look at the sales Winn-Dixie has on meat, as this is the most expensive part of any meal. Anyway...Im done with my rant. I love a good chicken quarter and I LOVE deviled eggs. I put bacon bits in mine.

Looks really good. I really enjoy leg quarters. A local grocery store recently had them for .49 cents per pound in a 10 lb bag. With steak at $10 a pound and up, I am enjoying the leg quarters even more.

That chicken looks perfect. I've seen that sauce around here recently but haven't tried it yet. Is it spicy? Similar to anything you've tried before?

Thanks Everyone I appreciate it.
@shucker Are you located in St Augustine? I've never seen A Frame sold in stores. Where? It has a little sweet with good bite and great Datil Pepper flavor. Can't think of anything it resembles flavor wise but, the color and texture is similar to that of Frank's Red Hot sweet chili (not even close in flavor). It definitely has a unique flavor.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL -
@shucker disregard my question on if you live in St Augustine. Switched to over to desktop view and saw your signature line. But, where did you see it sold over the counter?LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Great looking all around. That cauli rice looks off the charts. Have been making cauli "mashed potatoes" and am now sick of them. Looks like I've found a replacement that's much more textured and savory! It's a 302 thing . . .

@HendersonTRKing Thanks man! HuskerMaMa made the Cauli rice and it was crazy good! She's working on a couple different spins on it.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

There's an egg dealer on the Outer Banks that sells the sauce. I'm going to pick up a bottle next time I'm there.NPHuskerFL said:@shucker disregard my question on if you live in St Augustine. That is a fine looking meal Blake. Quarters are one of my favorites. Cheap, simple, delicious. +3 or 4 on stealing the cauliflower rice.

@MaC1220- I know what you mean...sometimes I see a recipe and I run out to the store and buy everything and it makes me wonder if it wouldn't be cheaper to just eat out!Great cook Blake, I'm inspired as always. Chicken quarters are dirt cheap though so this is one recipe that you could make cheap.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
I see nothing foolish here.

Oh and the @MeatChurch Honey Hog Hot on the deviled eggs was awesome. If you haven't tried his line of rubs you're seriously missing out.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

@NPHuskerFL finally tried that cauliflower rice last night. That's going into the biweekly rotation. Wife even wanted to try It next time with sausage and carrot/onion/celery like a thanksgiving dressing. She does the gluten free thing so was all about it.Memphis, TN ----> Chattanooga, TN

I made it for the Greek throw down. It's seriously the best and can take on all sorts of ingredients and flavor profiles. No more potatoes or rice for me. (Until more potatoes and rice.) We owe it all to @NPHuskerFL !!Walt2015 said:@NPHuskerFL finally tried that cauliflower rice last night. That's going into the biweekly rotation. @Walt2015 it's in our regular rotation and it works great for Spanish Rice and did it with some General Tsao chicken. We like just a kiss of sweet onion in ours.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL
