Sonos is one of the coolest things in my house. Software is very good and the speakers are well built, and sound is above average. Downfall is the fact that they are expensive. My favorite one of the Sonos components is the Sonos Amp that allowed me to tie in all of my deck speakers to the Sonos system. Being able to control my deck speakers from my phone while in the pool or cooking has been worth every penny. Highly recommend this system.
I agree with all the positive reviews here. I have roughly 9 sonos devices from play1's thru 3's to the soundbar and sub.....set up , ease of use, software app for your mobile device and sound quality is exceptional. We also have the Sonos amp running our patio speakers by the pool and its amazing to say the least.

In my media room I have the soundbar , sub and two play 1 speakers mounted behind the sitting area which provides an excellent experience in regards to true surround sound for movies and games on the 60 inch. Optical cable from Soundbar to TV is all you need and everything from the xbox, cable device , apple tv etc...all run effortlessly through the soundbar , sub and play 1's.

Even better , my system can grow just by simply adding additional speakers. Two thumbs up here

@JGoodson - you are in my neck of the woods....  I'm on the McDonough / Stockbridge line near Jodeco and Hudson Bridge.  Gotta get a meet-up going sometime!

And thanks, everyone, for the information.  Sounds like its a pretty easy setup and system to operate.  He is looking for something just to listen to mp3's on and to stream onto.....  Not going for the audiophile experience.

@DaveRichardson - Yes sir, we are right off Turner church road in the Union Grove district. Recently bought a home here but prior was closer to you off Jodeco road down from Community bible

Sonos is great. So is Bose.  Sound quality is in the ears of the beholder.  Just need to listen to both and make a decision.  Neither is true audiophile quality so no worries there.

You (well, he) can get something else much better.  Here is how I setup the music inside my house....

We are iPhone/iPad users so I bought a few AppleTV's, 1 for the master bedroom, 1 for the living room, and 1 for outdoors.  When we want to listen to music we can AirPlay from our iPhones, iPad, or Mac to the speakers of our choice.  The living room just plays through the living room speakers (Bose CineMate 15), the bedroom plays through the TV in there, and the outdoor speakers play through some Yamaha speakers we installed.  You can see the speakers in the attached picture along with a volume control we added out there (we added the volume control because we can also listen to whatever is on our living room TV if we choose to).

I highly recommend a setup similar to this!
