Nice. That basket is cool, have I been under a rock? I've never seen one like that before.
-
The only way I eat meatloaf is off the egg. Nice cook.
-
@pgprescott The basket is from Ron's thread, i can't claim any originality here, just wanted to share to get more folks to try this.

@pgprescott I can recommend the basket, it does a nice job letting the drippings out and the smoke in and if you spray it with Pam the loaf pops right out, then soak it for 20 min in soapy water and all the gook comes right off, easy.Enjoying life in Cincinnati, Ohio - Large BGE & MiniMax BGE

We love to grill meatloaf. One of my favorites. My small kids eat it too.

Has anyone used a Weber Vegetable Basket for the meatoaf? Seems it will get smoke all around like the Brinkmann basket and will let the fat escape too.

A buddy of mine uses the "Frog Mats" when he's smoking meatloaf or goetta. Works fine for him.
*And no, I'm not affiliated with the company in any way, lol! My local BGE store Wardway Fuels stocks them.

Looks awesome.
I have the CI grate, so I presume with the wide side up, I should have enough surface area to prevent a meatloaf from sagging through the grill without a basket. I've been wanting to try a meatloaf on the Egg. I think it's time I get down to business and make one.

That one sticks together so well it stays together and sticks to an upside down plate.

Similar to what @YEMTrey posted, I use grill sheets (http://www.lowes.com/pd_507279-53739-50003_4294610357__?productId=50113686&Ns=p_product_price|0&pl=1¤tURL=%3FNs%3Dp_product_price%7C0%26page%3D1&facetInfo=) for free form smoked meat loaf. They're cheap and can easily be cut with heavy duty scissors or kitchen shears.

@RPP Here is a pic of the cheese about to get rolled up. If you have any suggestions to a better cheese or ingredients to use, let me know.
