    @Haley is trolling hard.  Lmfao...

  • Those Strips are very nice. I like this cut of beef a lot and now i'm really envious. Sometimes ribeyes are too fatty and strips are not enough. These are perfect. I haven't even explored the finished product yet.  i will do that now.
  • If you can find those same strips and egg 'em, i would be really interested in the results. Good luck.

    What a stupid way to ruin a steak.  If it ain't cooked on an Egg it ain't good.  Why would somebody post an oven cooked steak on a Big Green Egg forum?  Let's get with it!
    PEACE.

    I get them from Whole Foods, $22lb here for prime.... I cook either these or ribeyes about once a week, usually on the egg, but the weather hasn't exactly been cooperating in the Northeast this winter.
  • Is your name Morton by any chance? Looks awesome.

    Steaks look great. Cooked to perfection. I'm with @cazzy The Egg can do just about everything good, but not everything great. There are other ways to cook certain stuff better. And sometimes you just want to change things up a bit. Do it a little different. Or you don't have the time to fire up the Egg. Lots of reasons. Sounds like somebody is way too addicted to the kool-aid. Don't worry. It will fade in time and you won't believe how you used to act. ;)

    ^thanks.... Sometimes the little ones require a lot of my attention and the oven method is easier then firing up the egg....

    I see this forum as a group of people with a common denominator - we all have BGEs.  Why have we forked out $$ for these heavy green orbs?  Because we like to eat good food.  If that makes us "foodies", so be it.  That said, any technique to make food taste good is worthy of posting.  If you're just in it for the journey, then don't ruin it for those awaiting the destination, which is delicious F-in' food.  nola out.
