I'd say that the best sauce is the one you like. Having said that I am a fan of homemade sauce myself if I habe to buy bottled sauce I go with one without high fructose corn syrup. 

I actually like Yeungling's bottle sauce when I can find it. They have a honey bbq sauce that I like for my wings.

I like "pit happens". Not for everyone I'm sure. It's got some tang to it, which I think holds up to the bold beef flavor profiles.

I tend to like Stubbs. It has a good pepper taste to me.

I agree Stubbs is great for beef.  

Another tip is to start with a sauce that is in your fridge, heat it on the stove and and mix it with Worcestershire and/or vinegar to bring down the sweetness.  You can also add black pepper or other spices to your liking.

Sweet Baby Rays Honey Chipotle each time and every time.  Sadly I can't get this in the UK supermarkets but it works wonders on baby backs and goes well with beef.  Spice means it's not too sweet.
