Best High Heat Gloves

I've had a pair of them for many years and like them. They were starting to get warn so I ordered a new pair and they are too small for my hands (I have big hands). I spoke with the company but they only make one size and it is smaller now than it used to be. Too bad because I also liked the long sleeves for arm protection.patkline9999 said:I've been using there really long black leather ones that say "Steve Raichlen" on them ..work great and also protect my forearms from the burned hair syndrome.

I have removed a CI pan from the Egg at around 450 to 500 ° and walked it into the house. I was starting to feel some warmth, but I thought that was a pretty good test. I have also removed the second tier with no issues along with adjusting the new CI griddle.Shiff said:
Strange set of reviews on Amazon. Most people love these gloves, but there are still a number that said they didn't protect from the heat for more than a few seconds. Do they really protect your hands for a reasonable number of seconds?tarheelmatt said:Not sure about the best, these are the ones I bought recently and they work well. Been removing CI pans, grates, platesetter, and whatever else hot with no issues.

Temping steaks on the grid is easier now too.

I use these welding gloves from Amazon and they've been fine:

For handling butts and anything else I use these chemical gloves from Harbor Freight:

FWIW I read the 'comments' from a representative from the company regarding two negative reviews I came across on Amazon. One remark indicated that if the gloves get wet then the heat is going to transfer faster. No getting around this fact. The other was basically a request for more information stating its possible it was a factory defect and to contact for a return.Shiff said:...strange set of reviews on Amazon. I have these and have burnt my hand on a really hot cast iron pan. Don't hold it for more than five seconds or you will be dancing.Shiff said:

Hmm... I think I'll exercise my right to change my mind and hold off purchasing for a while.@islanderegger I have these and have burnt my hand on a really hot cast iron pan. Don't hold it for more than five seconds or you will be dancing.

@Shiff they protect long enough to pull a 500℉-800℉+ CI pan out and walk it inside. I've never had an issue. Opinions are like Aholes everybody has one and that's just my opinion. I like em enough to have bought 2 pair for myself and another for a gift.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL
