CyberQ Wifi pit temp vs Egg thermometer
So I just hooked up my new BBQ Guru CyberQ Wifi, connected in ad-hoc, and I've got 3 racks of ribs going. Just noticed the temp on the egg says 330 but my guru says 265... Anyone had any issues with this? Any thoughts?

A difference is normal but that big of a difference is a bit odd. How long has it been since you calibrated your dome thermometer?I raise my kids, cook and golf. Any chance you started your fire in the front of the egg, under the dome thermo?Large BGE - McDonald, PA

Try putting your cyberQ probe very near the dome thermometer (I like to clip mine to the clip for the dome thermometer). Mine nearly always read very close to the same temp. If they still have a huge difference, it's time to check/calibrate all of your probes and thermometers.

I've been using mine for about 3 years. When I use the CyberQ WiFi and the fan runs more than ~30% for long periods of time, I get a larger difference in dome to grid temp too. My best guess is that the fan is blowing the hot air around the platesetter along the front of the dome creating a higher temp at that point that then evens out in the rest of the cooking chamber. I trust the grate temp and disregard the dome temp. You'll go nuts trying to keep them matched up.L x2, M, S, Mini and a Blackstone 36. She says I have enough now....eggAddict from MN!
