I've wanted an egg for a while but couldn't justify "$700 for a charcoal grill" as my wife described it. Planned to purchase a medium on my own and have been talking it up for a few weeks to soften the blow. Noticed a post on the forum for a mini eggfest in Medford, NJ and convinced my wife to take a ride and check out some eggs in action. Had a great time talking to ED, owner of Stoveworks and Chuck who posted the info., and sampling some great "Eggatizers."
I almost fell over when my wife said "We have to get one of those." More surprises when she said we have to get the large with the wooden cart. The only catch is that I have to promise to cook a turkey on the egg for Christmas. Things are looking up!!! I'll be ordering in a couple of days.

teach31,
By the time Christmas rolls around, she will have forgotten all about the turkey. But you'll wanna cook one anyways.[p]Good luck with your purchase!

teach31,
I know how you feel. I had a hard time justifiying it also, but after all the money I've spent on other grills over the past several years this BGE is already paying for itself. And should pay dividends in the years to come since it appears they last for decades. [p]The turkey will definitely be the best you've ever had. :~)

teach31,[p]My wife was amazed and concerned when I replaced our Weber with a BGE. I was looking at all the high end stainless gas grills at Expo and other retailers but then decided to get an egg. She has since been won over by the delicious pizzas, chicken, shrimp and other grilled goodies that have come off the egg. I really enjoy cooking on our egg and I am getting better and better at it. We had grilled shrimp and asparagus last night. Good luck with your cooking adventures.

teach31,
Welcome to the club. Probably won't be long until you want to add a small to the collection. Smalls are good for camping, and then you can have the good food all the time. See Yaa
