Nest Handler!

I think this has to be one of the best things I have got so far. I was a little skeptical about the price, but after installing it and having used it a few times now moving the egg in and out of the garage, it was well worth it.

Hard to believe something so minor can make something so much easier to move. Not sure how the other sizes are to move around but I know the XL was a bear before this. If your on the fence about one, get it now!! Well worth it!!!

@Mickey swears by them. If I rolled mine around I would have it as an insurance policy no doubt

  • I don't move min far, maybe 25'-30' but it sure does make a difference. Was going to build a table, but decided on this. At least for now.............

Good to hear.  I ended up picking one up a few months ago on closeout for $45 at my local Ace.  I haven't put it on the nest yet.  One of these days.....

Two Large's and both have them. Would not own without.

Great for convenience, but really great as a safety measure. We recommend them to anyone that is planning on moving their egg in a nest in and out of the garage or moving it much at all.  Not everyone pulls the trigger on the extra cost, but it really is a no Brainerd once you experience the difference.

Yep, really hurt to pay that much for it initially, but now I'm a believer.

I cook out in my driveway....let it cool and bring it back in the garage...it is definitely worth every penny. Just think if it would tip...this is a must have.

  • We use handler's on all our Eggs we travel with.  Most beneficial on the XL, IMO- as the Large has a decent hinge to pull.

When I get my medium, it is going in a Nest with a Handler.  I'm looking forward to posting the pics when I'm done customizing it.

... as the Large has a decent hinge to pull.
My initial egg was an egg fest large with a slight under-bite.  It had the under-bite when it was dropped off after the fest.  The egg has had a major adjustment twice, but never stays even past the first cook.  Wonder if that "decent hinge" served as a handle and it was pulled across the grass that way.  Maybe that would explain the permanent distortion in the hinge. Even when the hinge-to-band bolts are loosened, the hinge-to-band tabs are not even ... not like they are on the new egg.

Again, I have no empirical evidence, but it seems like we went through a period a couple years ago where the underbite was amore prominent issue. I suspect there was a minor QC issue either with the hinge, bands, or even the ceramics which caused this issue. As you are aware, it usually isn't a big deal cook wise, it just is really annoying for OCD people. I'm sure the spacer clips help, but it is much less likely these days. Sure can be frustrating.

I too am a huge fan of the handler. Even on the XXL it is not too bad to move for a 500# egg

This was done by an Egg falling and me trying to catch it with my leg at a Salado EggFest. I have moved around a LOT of Eggs and should know what I am doing. This hurt like hell and ended up infected. Would not have happened with a Nest.

First thing I bought when I bought my large. Keep it in the garage, and move it through the snow in the driveway without issue.

@Focker the Egg didn't have a scratch. This year I am leaving several Eggs where we have the "Pre" & "Post" parties at the Inn on the Creek and not have to move them.

biggest disadvantage for me is, that I will not get the egg in trunk of my car anymore... due to the handler fixes the egg with the nest...
