....Georgia. It's freaking cold 19F is COLD for us southern sissies.

Mrs Yolk brought home some shrimp from COSTCO and wanted shrimp and grits. One problem, no grits in the house. . So what to do? We have soy ,rice wine, balsamic, fish sauce, zuch, carrots, water chestnuts... Fire up the wok...

That is a good looking cook Jason. Please don't ever get caught without grits again. That is shameful. Jim Dandy is not happy with you at the moment.Louisville, GA - 2 Large BGE's

@Walt2015 @johnkitchens definitely some points against my southerner card tonight.
@Mattman3969 I think the wife enjoys the wok more. Not that she cooks on it. When I mentioned wokking the shrimp, she immediately forgot the grits.

That looks amazing, makes me want to go out and buy a wok. Speaking of which, I'm new to the BGE family any one have suggestions on best place to buy wok setup.XL BGE, KJ classic, Joe Jr, UDS x2

My set up is a spider from cgs legs down and a 16" hammered steel wok I bought on amazon.
You can buy a wok from Tom or the wok shop as well. Woks are not expensive at all. I'd shy away from cast iron wok on the egg. @ryantt -

Just out of curiosity why did you go with the spider from CGS, as opposed to the woo? Just because it's cheaper? Your meal looks fantastic by the way. I still need to get setup to do some wokkinLBGE | Conroe, TX
-
@tisoypops I may be wrong, but I don't think the woo would support the wok, too big a diameter. The wok sits nicely in the spider. Don't take my word, if you want a woo, call Tom and ask questions.
-
Hmm. Ok. I was thinking that was the setup most used. That's why I was curious why you chose the spider since with the woo you get some other uses out of it too. But I will for sure call Tom before I decide. Thanks sirLBGE | Conroe, TX

@tisoypops like I said, I could be wrong. Probably should have followed my own advice. My problem is I do most of my shopping on weekend nights when I'm not thinking clearly and I'm more spontaneous.
