My New Table (Finally!)

I have two larges. When I bought my first egg it was in the little table at the dealers. I took it home just like that and never changed a thing except I added some stain on the finish. I got my other large over the summer. It came with a nest.
Some of you remember that I posted a while back about getting a new table built and putting both of them in one. Well I struggled with where to place the eggs in the table, etc, but I finally made my mind up, and Sunday afternoon they delivered my table.
This is the before shot;
This is the after;
I had this made out of cedar. I particularly like the fact that it has a smooth top.
This is just phase 1 of my new and improved egging porch. In another couple of weeks he will be delivering another table for storage. I will be able to keep all of my chunks, plate setters, and egging accessories in one place. I will also be storing a tv in the new cabinet.
I can't wait!

Very good looking John. Love the wood tables ... your cedar especially looks good. Wood tables in the snow climates just doesn't last without a lot of work ... and I'm too lazy.

Thanks guys. I hate to admit it, but the egging table was an afterthought. When I called the guy, and he came over I had no intention of having him make me an egg table. I was ok with my current configuration.I really just wanted more storage and countertop space. My original plan was for him to make a storage cabinet that would be flat on top, for work space, with drawers and a cabinet for storage.Before he left that day I had hired him to build both pieces! I am a sucker, but I think I will be happy with the finished product.Louisville, GA - 2 Large BGE's

What are you going to use to protect the top from hot stuff?

Very nice table. I put just a clear sealer on mine, wish I would have given it a sheen like that table. Next spring, I will probably add some color to it and finish more like that table.Victoria, TX - 1 Large BGE and a 36" Blackstone

Wow, great table! So, John, would you like to sell the old table at a really good price? I could drive down from north Georgia. Would love to graduate from a nest to a table, but really want a fixer upper for a winter project and your old one does not look like it needs any fixing.

@johnkitchensBeautiful!I've got a unique space for storing all the Egg stuff. It can handle 42" width - height and depth are flexible.I've got a 40" teak storage box ordered but it's not the "perfect" solution. Could you provide your carpenter's contact info? Perhaps he could build a custom solution for me.Thanks!New Albany, Ohio

Thank you so much guys!What are you going to use to protect the top from hot stuff?I am not sure yet. I will have to come up with something.
I would probably sell it. I am not sure how much it is worth. It is two years old and never been rained on. The stain was applied around the cement blocks since I didn't want to take the egg out of the table so it will need to be sanded and restained.epcotisbest said:Wow, great table! Well, I prefer a project. Got a sander that is just sitting idle. If you decide to sell, let me know a price that I just can't resist.
BTW...you are setting a standard with that new table. It looks better with each viewing. -
