We upgraded our kitchen last year and after searching for almost a month, we finally settled on Franke ORX100. We also got some a couple of accessories. Including the "shelf grid" (perfect for rinsing). check it out:
BTW, we used to have a double basin and I wanted something that I could fit big pans and trays in. I will -never- go back to double basin.

I got me this fancy blue cooler

And the guys that done this purty job. Tanks boys

This is a great post as we are due for a remodel.
My contractors do goods work. Cheap to. -
We also recently installed granite in the kitchen and went with the Blanco. Very reasonably priced compared to the SS farm sinks. We went with the deepest that would fit. I think it's like 10 or 12" deep. Compared to the old 2 bowl ss this thing rocks.DoubleEgger said:I love the single basin. Really happy with the Blanco.

We went with a super deep Blanco double bowl and a quartz counter top. I would do the same if I had to do it over again. I can fit a large stock pot and cookie sheets without problem.

My wife has her heart set on a new kitchen in the near future. While there are many sticking points (money, design, cabinets, counters, sink, flooring... well pretty much everything!) I know the sink is going to be a tough one to sort out. She will want something very expensive that I'm concerned will look like hell after two years. My focus will be on durability over the long term over styling.
Thanks for helping me gain some insight to what works for an egghead. I'm sure there are things that will work better for us than what we have.L x2, M, S, Mini and a Blackstone 36. She says I have enough now....eggAddict from MN! -

What we got, a tad smaller than this, 16 gauge if that means anything, very happy:
(10" deep, rounded joints for easy cleaning)

@paqman. We picked rounded joints strictly for ease of cleaning. I wonder if it's also better than square joints structurally?
btw, we ordered from Amazon.ca, free shipping and no hassles with customs and courier brokerage fees.canuckland -
We are in the process of designing our last house........Get the biggest and deepest darn sink you can afford...
Undercounter mount makes for easy counter clean up.
I have had both cast iron coated ceramic, builders grade ceramic and SS. I prefer SS for the clean up. Easy to keep clean with Bar Keepers Friend...Just don't use a builder's grade SS not thick enough and will dent. Don't skimp on the faucet either.
Current house has quartz countertops with Microban and been very pleased with the performance. Will be using them again.Large, small and mini now Egging in Rowlett Tx -

That's really close to our layout and we're trying to land on a plan. Any shots from the other angles?

Thanks. From that direction it's completely different. LOL. The thing we're struggling with is the peninsula, so that helps.

+1 quartz...granite=radon:-( and under mounts sink are no issue if installed correctly. I even fill my sink with tomatoes and boiling water for peeling for canning and the heat has never done a thing. All in the install!Plumbers local 130 chicago. Why do today what you can do tomorrow

Why do you think granite is a radon risk and Quartz is not?Southeast Florida - LBGE
In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’ Dare to think for yourself.
