From field to fork… V 2.0 - Valentines edition

Hey everyone, thought I'd put up a few pics of our V-day.

I was lucky to get invited to hunt some pheasant yesterday, the season is over since September but a friend from work has a couple pieces of land that are certified hunting preserves (not sure that's the proper term), and he raises pheasants to be released and hunted through out the year.  The main reason behind this is to aid in his dog training business, gives him a big advantage to be able to work dogs year round.  And it looks as though it will hopefully benefit me, as he often wants someone to do the shooting so he can concentrate on working the dogs.  Bonus!!

Anyways, my wife was very excited when I asked if she'd like to tag along.  She shoots clays with her 20g, but (so far) has no interest in shooting an actual bird.  She had an awesome time just watching the dog work, they're so happy doing what they are made to do.

Here's the Mrs and our new friend Sea Bass.  He's a 10 year old lab, certified grand master.  It was awesome watching him work, I've never hunted with such an awesome dog!

Final tally, 3 for me :)

The end result, some delicious legs (siracha, honey and butter marinade/glaze) and breasts (Mickeys coffee rubb), with spuds and sides.  Mmmmm.
