Butt and Ribs

I have two racks of st Louis ribs smoking on the AR (oval stone, ribs on oval rack, then standard BGE rack) and two 3.5 lb butts in a pan above.  I chose to smoke them in the pan so they would not drip all over the ribs below.  Should I ditch the pan or keep it?  Should there be anything in the pan with the two butts?
