Dang. Guy asks about selling something and it turns into a hate mini thread. Maybe you should drive one before all the hatred? How many of you haters have ever driven one? Don't let the looks deceive you. Jeeezzzz

I'm wit chu bro...  On blogs it's easy to pontificate about things you know nothing about...

For example, do most of our participants know that Mini Coopers are owned by BMW?

    "And options include a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine and a 2.0-liter
four-cylinder engine, both with a BMW TwinPower twin-scroll turbo. That
three-cylinder will go into the BMW i8 hybrid supercar, and the engineers heavily implied the new four-cylinder could see future duty in cars like the 320i or 328i. This is why it makes sense that more than ever, the Cooper now drives like a small BMW."

On mountain roads it handles like a slot car.  On a Pike's Peak run I've beaten the times of Corvettes (stock), and during speed week at Bonneville I got my stock turbo to 124 before sanity took over and I backed off.

...so let 'em talk.  ...you and I know better.

You're probably better off advertising it to fellow Canuckians given what you paid for shipping.

Maybe an OT thread aimed at Canadian eggheads or advert on kijiji? If your asking price is way over reasonable, trust me you'll find out pretty soon :)

Nothing against Minis, its a joke because a guy tried to sell a Mini on here on his 3rd post.

If it had been a Corvette then that would be the joke.

Is it true that you can put your feet down, stand up, and turn the car around?

Different strokes for different folks, but I can't get into the toy car craze.

The Mini posts just happened to be the tipping point and is not even the issue.  The issue is "group dynamics" especially anonymous group dynamics..

If you go back and read the thread by the guy that posted about the mini sale you will of course notice that (a) he was a new poster to the forum and (b) that he posted it in the OFF TOPIC area. ...and others were quick to jump in his ****,  and continued to pile on long after he got the message AND apologized AT LEAST TWICE.
I ask you to reflect a moment, how is this different than what school yard bullies and clique's do?  ...and when they are called on it, it's just "awww, we were just havin' fun with him" or "gee why is he so uptight about it??"

I've seen it happen more than once on here and didn't say anything then, this time I chose to enter the discussion (blame it on Seasonal affective disorder [SAD]) but I neither want or will participate in a flame-war.

Intelligent, knowledgeable discourse is informative 'specially about all things BGE, but I have also garnered some interesting information from OT posts (from 4K projectors to security systems and stereo equipment recently) and I've laughed at, and winced at some of the humor posted here.

One man's opinion... it's worth what you've paid for it.

    @UncleFred Well said my friend.

My first Cooper I had to 130 before sanity took over. I really like this new 3 cylinder (yes @DoubleEgger it has 3 cylinders). It is a sweet little piece of German engineering. Taking Cosmo to the Smokies in about three weeks and later in the spring will be at Minis on the Dragon. That is gonna be fun!

I think you are being too uptight. It's a forum on the internet for crying out loud. Can't we all just have a little fun?

Maybe a "don't give a shlit" button should be added also.
