Hot or heat resistant pad?

My adjustable rig arrives tomorrow (yay!) and I have a logistics question for you. I'm looking for some sort of pad that I can put it on when I take it out of the egg. As you can see in the picture, I have a concrete counter next to the egg but don't want to put it directly on concrete so as not to stain the concrete. So I'm looking for some sort of pad that I can put on the concrete and then put the rig on top of the pad. Something I can put I when I'm egging and then put away when I'm not.

2 2x4s with a few bricks on top. The 2x4s will give the bricks a chance to have air cooling below them in the small chance of a heat transfer.

Firebrick or brick or a paver

i almost never take the rig out though, i leave the frame in there pretty much 99 percent of the time. is there a reason your taking a hot rig out of the egg

Fljoemon: have you put anything hot on it?
Fishlessman: I don't to take it out during a cook unlessi need to add limp or reconfigure. But even cold I don't want it in the concrete directly and if I'm going to get a pad, it may as well handle it hot, too (if it can). Make sense? -
I just set mine of a damp dish towel when I take it out. Even after a pizza cook, never had an incident of it setting the towel on fire. basically just keeps the grease off your surface, in my case a metal table top.

Hey @Breti I move my AR in and out of the egg all the time. I always just set it down directly on the concrete patio, but the patio is nothing I'm trying to keep looking pretty.
I will strongly recommend a pair of leather welding gloves for moving hot gear in and out of the egg; they're probably the most frequently used accessory I own. I bought an elbow length pair from Amazon for just under $20 and they're great!
Have fun with the AR, it's a hell of a good tool!

Blasting: I'm leery of something that doesn't state the teno it can take. I'm leaning toward the mat the FLjoemon mentioned.

They didnt list the temp on that particular listing. Same stuff in other sizes is rated for a constant temp of 450.Breti said:Blasting: I'm leery of something that doesn't state the teno it can take. I'm leaning toward the mat the FLjoemon mentioned.
