Fellow Addicts -[p]It's becoming clearer and clearer to me as the weeks go on, (got my first BGE after the recent waldorf eggfest), that the hobby of EGGing is fast becoming a very expensive addiction!!!![p]Someone tell me it's OK that I just spent $212.96 at www.myspicer.com. I just need to hear it, that's all!![p]Oh, and does anyone have any good ideas on how to hide 35 lbs of spices from your spouse??? ;-)[p]- Joe

    QJoe,
The easiest place is next to the BBQ Guru that you'll be ordering soon next to the Food Saver you will be buying and then the Kitchen Aide and the list goes on and on - BTW a nice size home toy box addition is a mere $35K

  • QJoe,
Best place to hide it is right under their nose; literaly! The more you cook on the egg, the less the spouses seem to worry.[p]In fact, just a week ago my wife said "You don't need to ask persmission if you're buying something for the egg!"[p]And that is how my second large got himself a nicely used trials motorcycle last weekeend... ;)[p]

Man, I don't think I've ever spent that much on a spice order, and I buy bulk and cook a good bit (buy some exotic stuff too). Besides, do you know how much Dizzy Pig you could buy with $212.96???

QJoe,[p]Oh, my GAWD!!! What a web site!![p]I can feel my credit card struggling to get out of my wallet. Any place that sells porcini mushroom powder (which I searched for for months!), powdered Worcestershire sauce (never heard of it, but I can imagine its impact in a rub), and Spanish saffron (at only $375.50 per pound ... I'm certain that $.50 is important, right?) has got my vote, er... money.[p]Thanks for the lead to the retailer ... I think :~o[p]DobieDad

DobieDad -[p]Well, I've never used them before, so as soon as the spices arrive, I'll post an update with my experiences (good or bad). You might want to wait until then to buy that saffron...[p]- Joe

  • RRP,
A wife could never object to a Food Saver. I love mine as much as the Egg. (Heresy, I know)
PS I am the wife and maybe I don't count because I asked for the Guru for my birthday.

kk, I gotcha - BTW we bought our first BGE - a large - together then months later my wife bought me a small for my birthday as a surprise and then one year later she presented me with a medium BGE - yup, these things are couple friendly though I now cook LOL!

QJoe,[p]I'll look forward to your post. It's always good to get a report on a new retailer! Please comment on the freshness and quality of the herbs and spices they send you.[p]And don't worry about me! I'll email 'em first to see what the shipping cost on $2.00 worth of saffron might be! LOL [p] ;~)[p]Good "Spicy Cooks" to you![p]DobieDad
