Habanero Mango Red Pepper Glazed Chicken

Last month when I was in Texas, I stopped bt an HEB and bought a few items that I can't buy locally. One of the items was the Habanero Mango Red Pepper topper. I bought it to add to chili but decided to use it as a glaze tonight.image

I brined the chicken this afternoon for a couple of hours and then prepped the side dishes. I fired up the small to 400 degrees and roasted the vegetables and hassle back potatoes. I finished the potatoes in the house with some smoked cheese from last month.

The BLSL thighs and a BLSL breast was drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with salt and pepper and on the grill and glazed with the habanero glaze the last 5 minutes.image

The habanero glaze wasn't extremely hot but had that great habanero flavor and after burn.

That is just plain beautiful.  I really wish they would open a HEB in GA.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

I love the HEB stores and try to pickup a few items every time I'm in Texas. Central Market is HEB's upper end store and is one of the nicest markets that I've ever shopped at. Give them a shot if you're ever in Texas.

Nice cook. I'll be in Texas just over a week from now and HEB was already on my agenda. Now my shopping list has grown.

I use to pickup meat and produce, but I fly mostly now and it's not affordable to ship the stuff. I'm not a flavored coffee fan, but the Texas Pecan coffee is amazing. Lots of sauces, glazes, spices and Latino specialty items.

That chicken looks wonderful!! I've never had habanero anything and there is no HEB within 1000 miles or 2, so I searched for a mango habanero glaze recipe. One mango, two habaneros (seeds and all), two tbls honey and juice from one lime. Into food processor til a paste. Looks good, looks easy. We'll see. Thanks for posting!

    Here's the recipe I found. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SN-XGF47h8w

Don't know who she is, but I wonder... do people really talk like that? Totally?

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

@Carolina Q I watched the video. I'd be a little wary of including the seeds and veins of a habanero the first time I made her glaze. Most people handle habaneros with gloves. Maybe she didn't because she used them whole. "Totally."

I thought the same. Two whole habaneros will be HOT!

Thanks, guys. I wondered about the heat issue too. Was planning to wear gloves regardless. Fer sure.
