Repurposed Home for My Mini
Hawg Fan
Posts: 1,517
I found the old Singer stand at a flea market and made a new home for my Mini. The new table is under the patio roof and out of the wind. Perfect for winter cooking.

Very nice. You could attach some sort of bellows to the foot pedal and really get that baby going!#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

I'd like to use the treadle mechanism for something, but I don't have any ideas right now.Any road will take you there if you don't know where you're going.

I remember sitting at my grandmothers feet working that pedal. Wonder what happened to that table :-? Cool post!

Awesome repurpose!!! You should attach some blacksmith bellows to the treadle for the high heat sears.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.

I really like that table ... great idea and execution.Hawg Fan said:

Dumb ideas:
- hooked up to shake the egg ... get the ash out of the lump
- hooked up to shake the fire grate ... no need for a wiggle stick
- hooked up to intake or outlet vents ... temp control by foot control
Maybe ideas:
- mechanism to raise the lid ... both hands free operation
- bellows ... for fast starts and high temps

One of the coolest egg tables ever. Great job!

@Jeepster47 I like the bellows idea, but with the Looflighter, I can have the Mini up to 500 degrees in 5-6 minutes. It would be cool to use it for something. Maybe a fine grinding stone to sharpen knives?

@cook861 I put three coats of spar urethane on the concrete counter top. Same as is on my large table. The plan is to give it a fresh coat every year.
