Mini on smoking duty

I've do some indirect cooks on the mini but never tried a smoke. Here's my first go at it. Rockwood with oak and a 4 lb sirloin tip roast seasoned with BGE Cosmic Cow. It was nearly frozen when I put it on so this one's going to be a while.

    Looks like a plan. I've never smoked a sirloin roast and I have a few in the freezer. What's the plan, low n' slow until med-rare?

    That's the plan for today. I've done them before and taken it to 160, wrapped with porter or stout in the foil. Then pulled it at about 210 and shredded.

    Well it went from frozen to 135 in 2 hrs (I was expecting it to take much longer). We already had leftover pulled pork for dinner but I had to try a couple of little slices before putting it in the fridge. I'll slice it thin for sandwiches tomorrow. By the way, I thought it tasted pretty darn good! Nice smoke and a little heat from the rub. image
