Ordered that in walnut, the 20x15 size. List for $179 but I got for $119
Anyoen familiar with that company? Quality product? Worth the money? Thoughts on walnut vs maple?

I liked this one more because end grain but I think will be happy with the one ordered. I could have got this one for $149Boom -
Don't think it would fit in my dishwasher. Looks nice though.

I have a 24x18x2 Boos Board in Hard Rock Maple. It's great. Walnut is a little nicer to your knives since it's softer. 119 is a great deal, mine was about that much on a discount site.
Please tell me you're joking.greenenvy said:Don't think it would fit in my dishwasher. Looks nice though. -
Here's a FEAST TV episode on that company: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ac-DLlmiC0U

Don't waste your money on butcher block oil. Just pick up some mineral oil. It's the same thing.

Even better, get the stuff with mineral oil and beeswax.UrbanForestTurnings said:Don't waste your money on butcher block oil. Just pick up some mineral oil. It's the same thing. -

This is what I use. It's also called "spoon butter". You can make it at home. -

The beeswax will only give temporary protection. The first time you use the board you will cut the wax. -
so when I cut the cheese I cut the wax? Now I'm confused...LOLRe-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

So there goes a lot of money today! And all for things I won't have for about a month. But will be sexy as hell once I have!Boom

knife like that - you not only have to keep it clean (love the dishwasher idea), but you also have to keep it sharp. get yourself one of these babies. opens cans AND sharpens knives. forget that new crap on the market, vintage is the way to go

While that is a really cool looking machine I will stick with my spyderco tri-angle sharpmakerBut cleaning will be a breeze. Just throw in dishwasher along with new cutting board and boom!Boom

You don't say!...Just like mineral oil. That's why you reapply it on a continuous basis. The mineral oil in it keeps it from drying so it flows into crevices. It just allows the product to last a little longer and makes it a little more waterproof than mineral oil alone.UrbanForestTurnings said:Eggcelsior said:

This is my 4th knife from him, couple guys on here I know have ordered from him, and another forum I am on he has sold couple hundred knives on there. He has production, limited runs, and customs. Does everything, including heat treat, himself. I love his work.Boom -
