New Egghead and loving it

Just wanted to say hi and say how awesome this forum is. I keep finding new ideas I want to try just by browsing through here.

I got my LG BGE for XMAS from my wife. I've been wanting it for almost 2 years and this year she stashed away the money and my local butcher (who is my BGE dealer) delivered it to my house on Xmas eve at 8am. I was shocked and speechless.

So far I've been fairly tame in what I have tried to cook. I've done steaks, burgers, and Honey Apple Cider Chicken on the Volcano with Sweet Potatoes, smoked 2 racks of ribs and 4 Gluten and Egg free pizzas. Once i get a good temperature thermometer I will be trying a roast, pulled pork and a brisket.

Anyways, I'm addicted to the BGE and can't wait to see what i can all make on it.

then I got a mini..got cast iron..a DIgiQ..a therma.....you're gonna love it

I saved for a year for my first kamado.  I wanted one in the worst possible way.  When I saved enough and my wife seemed ok with it, I went and purchased it!!!  I absolutely love my kamado Joe, and have since purchased 2 more!!

Congrats and don't be afraid to try new recipes and take chances.  You have a top quality cooker that will not let you down!!!

Hey SmokeyPitt, those are sweet potatoes. I had sweet potatoes, peppers, I believe onions and apple in there all tossed in some olive oil. It was amazing. My daughters actually had thirds for the first time that I can remember.

I think it's a perfect fit, BGE dealer and butcher. He definitely enables me with the BGE. Every time I'm in there, about 3 times a week, he talks to me about recipes, cook times, what I have planned and accessories.

Yeah, that was the second meal I cooked on the BGE and was so excited to eat it that I didn't think to take a picture of it until I got it back in the house.
