I hope you are feeling better soon. 

My BIL had a similar experience, but he landed and hit his face hard on the porcelain throne. Ended up with a black eye for awhile. Apparently blood pressure can drop rapidly when you get ready to urinate at night, which causes you to pass out. This is more likely as you approach the 50 year marker. 

Sorry if this is TMI, but I know as I get older I'll pee like a lady in the middle of the night. Hopefully this helps someone.

@DMW that is exactly what happened to me. I will be 46 soon.

This literally just happened to a friend at work (one of the partners). He described almost exactly the same scenario, but he passed out when peeing (lol, sry). Faceplanted on the porcelain, cut his head open and ended up with stitches after his wife found him.

There's a term for what happened to him: Micturition syncope

Any possibility this is what went down? It only happened to him one other time, like 15 years ago. No alcohol involved. In my case, alcohol would have been involved

@rtbarry that is exactly what happened. I was taking a leak when it all went down. I am so glad my head didn't hit the toilet!
