Super Easy Inexpenive Table
Here is a super easy BGE table to build. I purchased the legs from Home Depot for $41.00 - they are Edsal work bench legs. (you get 2 legs one for each end for the $41.00) They were gray, so I painted them with Rustoleum dark green paint and they match the egg perfectly. I did have to order them and delivery took 2 weeks. You can order at home from the internet too. Then you just purchase the wood, screws and paint or stain. You can make the table as long as you want by the length of wood you purchase. I did not have plans, just winged it. Since I built it in December of 2014, I have added a stainless towel holder (old fridge handle that looks really nice) and some hooks for tools. I also added casters so I can roll it. Keep in mind if you add casters that you will need to drill new holes closer to the main leg in the center. The wood and egg are too heavy to use the existing holes and the feet will start to bend. The base wood is 2x4's turned on their side and screwed together. This gives the necessary support to the egg and makes the table solid. Sorry, could not find instructions on how to post a pic, so try looking at my profile pic. Total price of project was under $100.

pic?
<edit> I just finished reading your post. there is a link for "attach file" toward the bottom when you post, just click that and it's a fairly standard dialog for select file, etc., pretty easy to do. your profile pic looks good, but would love to be able to zoom in and also see the stainless upgrade if you get around to posting a pic. thx
Love you bro! -
Thanks, been working on it all morning and can't seem to make it work. Have the pics on photobucket, but they don't show up when attached. Will post the SS upgrade once I take a better pic of it.

Very cool idea. Are these the legs you went with?Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Yes, those are the one's I used. I think I commented I used the smaller one's in my other posting.

@SanDiegoMike How much do these legs weigh? I really like the industrial/sexy curves of these legs!!!

I would say they are 5 lbs each.....approximate. I really wanted cast iron machine shop legs , say vintage 1950's, but just too expensive and shipping charges from the East coast really killed it. I was going to use reclaimed beat up pallet wood with the cast iron legs. Think it would have looked cool.

That's what I was thinking, too. These have the look of the big beefy machine shop legs, but on one helluva diet!!!
I'll have to check these out a bit more!
