Recommendations for a Mandoline Slicer?
Reviews on Amazon are all over the place, anybody have one they would recommend? Thanks for any/all input!

Yeah, we just went through this. I didn't want to spend a fortune for the French ones, I was going to get the OXO stainless ($99) one but there were mixed reviews on Amazon so my wife decided we should get one of the cheaper OXO ones with a v-blade ($39ish) that has better reviews. I'm not convinced I like the v-blade. It's good, not great. I suspect the reviews are tied to what someone expected from a $39 vs $99 model. If I had to guess, I'll probably use it for a year or two then give to one of our kids to help set up their kitchen and get something with a straight blade. I've only used it twice though, just initial impressions.Love you bro!

Search the forum. There has previous posts and I remember there was a clear winner based on recommendations.

My GF gave me a Borner (B-o-r-n-e-r) based on a Cook's Illustrated shootout, it got top honors. Works better than my Oxo did.___________

Kenji from Serious Eats uses a $20 Benriner. Says he loves it. They also make a wider one. As for me, no idea. I just use a knife.

The Benriner was also Ruhlman's pick.
