Steak - Cast Iron Skillet Benefit?
Happy New Year Everyone,
I received a cast iron skillet as a gift and I was advised that using a cast iron skillet is beneficial when cooking a steak due to the even heat trasnfer it creates. Has anyone ever tried and actually had some kind of result? Please share. Thank you.

I always reverse sear in cast iron skillet. Lots of tasty crust if you sear in butter. Love the crust! Get it smoldering hot and a couple min per side max.

@cazzy has a method...I'm sure someone will post it. The only way I do steaks, burgers and chops.
Slow cook till 20 degrees below target, pull and let rest, coat steak with butter and/or herbs and sear at about 500 till 5 degrees below target...let rest a few.
There'll be several different opinions...hang on.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN -

I use a griddle top to sear steaks these days. My go to method involves bacon fat on the griddle before I lay steaks on. Winner every timeLBGE& SBGE———————————————•———————– Pennsylvania / poconos
