Not long ago there was rumor and many news stories that 'imitation calamari' was made from these and being passed off as Calamari in restaurants. Just slice into rings and deep fry.__________________________________________It's not a science, it's an art. And it's flawed.- Camp Hill, PA

Teacher: So Johnny, how was your weekend?
Johnny: Horrible. A car hit my dog, right in the a$$hole!
Teacher (correcting Johnny's language): Rectum.
Johnny: Wrecked him? Damn near killed him!Send my prize to SGH - he can make anything taste good!

That wasn't rumor and was proven several times as I recall. There were even blind taste tests conducted and even most could not tell the difference when the real and fake calamari was served to people who regularly enjoyed and paid for the real calamari! Lesson here to be learned?...maybe even with the right recipe and FAMILIAR dip you can pass off other by-products!Tjcoley said:Not long ago there was rumor and many news stories that 'imitation calamari' was made from these and being passed off as Calamari in restaurants. I see I was summoned to defend the good name of scrapple. Scrapple is simply sausage combined with flour, cornmeal, and spices. Now what is in the sausage....They/Them
