Learning the Language -Urban Dictionary not helping-
IslandPilot
Posts: 2
I'm new to the Egg world. We are having fun. Four cooks so far, Pizza, Steak, Ribs, and wings all with great success (There was a speed bump with the Pizza but we recovered well) and I'm learning a ton from this forum. Although, it is a little confusing at times trying to catch up with the language. I can guess at a few terms but there are some that I'm missing. "Spatch," Yeah, don't urban dictionary that one. SRFS, FOGO, OT, I'm guessing these are acronyms. I'm not hopeless though. I figured out reverse sear. The definition, not the art.

Welcome. Lots of acronyms used here.
SRF = Snake River Farms - great source for Wagyu beef, especially brisket
OT = Off Topic - not Egg related but interesting
IT = Internal temp of meat
FTC = Foil, Towel, Cooler - If your roast is done early, wrap in foil, wrap in towels and put it in a cooler to keep hot for hours
Spatchcock = cut the back bone out of a chicken and flatten it on the Egg. Cooks in about 90 minutes.
As you come across others just ask. Lots of folks here to help.
