Looks good.  I'm currently trying to come up with my own ideas.  Not sure I want something 10" long though.  Thinking corner unit.

  • Looks intense and awesome!  I also made a custom table and wished I had incorporated a slide out table top section in front of my LG EGG for ease of moving from place to place.

If you can, instead of making drop in holes for your EGGS to go into,....make the top granite piece sectional so you can slide your EGG into position and slide it out when you need to...also much safer as well.  My next table will incorporate that function.  Hope this makes sense.

  • Yeah, looking at your plan you have plenty of top surface area to rest the small sections granite that would be infront of your EGGS, and like your signature says "I would much rather be able to say I was glad I did than wished I had........"    If you don't, dropping those EGGS into place will be a nightmare especially the XL...

Good Luck, post finished pics when complete. Hope my two cents helped.

Thinking about putting a drawer in the bottom of it with 3/4 expanded metal so the small pieces and dust fall through and can be segregated.

If you have the bases of your XL and SM at the same height as shown in your drawing, I am thinking the XL will protrude a long way above the work surface.

Nice design. I am thinking of doing an L shape next to my house so I can add a sink, but not for sure yet. I am also thinking of having my XL on on end opened all around so I don't have to drop the egg in. I am also want a big cabinet for storage and to be an outdoor bar for entertaining. Good luck.

I am doing concrete. Doing my kitchen first using Z counter form and using extra material for egg table.

@AUCE check out Z counterform. Quote for granite for my kitchen installed was 4k. I will complete the concrete counter myself for $400 including a mixer rental.

Ipe is good stuff. Extremely hard to work with but worth it. Through bolt everything.
