1st Time Spatchcocked Turkey
Decided to help the wife out and cook Thanksgiving turkey on my BGE. 12 lb bird, injected and rubbed. Indirect at 375 for 2 hours with 2 chunks of apple. Guests said it was the best turkey they ever had. Guess I got lucky, but it was a very easy way to cook the turkey.

What did you inject it with? I am doing my first spatchcocked turkey next weekend and recently bought an injector but I am not sure what to inject with? Just melted butter?Chilliwack, BC, Canada

I Spatched my first one yesterday. No injection. Tsunami Spin Dizzy Pig rub. Came out great! If I was to inject, probably would have used apple juice, cider vinegar, melted butter, worstershire, spices.XL BGE; Medium BGE; L BGE

That's one of the best looking spatchcock turkeys I've seen. Did you cook that on a raised grid?Dave - Austin, TX

Injected with Turkey Gold (2 oz per breast and 1.5 oz per thigh) and rubbed with Turkey Traditional both from www. tastylicksbbq.com.

Terrebandit,
Thanks for the kind words! Used inverted platesetter with grid on same. Only thing I wish I had done differently was to raise drip pan from platesetter as whatever dip drip burned!
