OT taking pics with iPhone 4

Right now my mac is not downloading pics from phone for what ever reason. Hopefully my SIL will set that straight at Christmas time. How do y"all take pics with iPhone 4 so that they load right side up on this forum?? Do you have the 2 side buttons (volume control) at the top while you are taking pictures. Any suggestions will be greatfully appreciated.

I just click where it says attach file and choose from library. When the pic loads I click the thumbnail and it will say insertimage/delete. It's real small but click insert image and voila

Some of my pics want to display sideways here on the forum. These are pics I have already transferred from iphone to laptop. 

If they do, here is how to fix it:

Open the pic from your laptop with PAINT. uncheck the keep proportional box.     Then change the height to 90%.   Then save.

Then when you post the pic in the forum, it will be correct.

While on the topic of iPhone pics... Does anyone know an easy way to make the file sizes smaller? They come out at 2-3 mb per picture and sometimes vanilla chokes when I try to post directly from the phone.

I take shots with my iPhone home button under the left thumb and the volume buttons top right. The only trick to resizing is to email shots to yourself cuz you have the option of choosing large, medium or small sizes. Then save the resized image from email to your camera roll for posting.
