Mini Max tackles salmon

Hi Guys, My second cook on the Mini Max was salmon. I followed a recipe found on this forum for the glaze, heated the dome to 450 degrees and cooked it direct with the skin side down for 8 minutes. We have always cooked salmon in tin foil I DON'T KNOW WHY NOW! This salmon was fantastic. I was worried about the grill being so close to the coals, but no worries! I added just a few pieces of lump to what was left from the 8 hour cook on Saturday (Pork butt). The mini max was up to temp in 7 minutes which was amazing to me. So far I am so impressed with the mini max, I won't use my large egg unless the meat won't fit on this 13" grille. It heats up quick, uses very little lump and holds temp really easy.
I am probably breaking a major rule here because I forgot to take the photo before I got started (Please don't kick me off the forum!) but the photo shows how wonderful this was. Feel free to look away if you must, I promise I won't do it again!!!

I agree with JohnInCarolina, we did not flip the salmon, we cooked direct at 450 degrees for 8 minutes, and then covered for a few minutes before serving.
