Pineapple Crumb cake from Eggtoberfest

My husband and I attended this year's Eggtoberfest in Atlanta, and tried this awesome Pineapple crumb cake in the main Egg tent that we would like to try out. I remember the ingredients included pineapple chunks, one box of yellow cake and butter. And I think that was pretty much it - placing the pineapple at the bottom of the pan, sprinkling the cake mix powder, and cutting the butter and sprinking on top. I think they also said to bake at 400 degrees for about 40 minutes. Could anyone out there confirm or deny the list of ingredients and the cooking temperature and time??? I know trial and error is the best teacher, but I would like to improve the odds by starting with the correct recipe.
Thanks!!

Maybe late, but here is what I think you are looking for. Someone posted the whole recipe list sometime a few weeks age, but I don't know how to attach a PDF from mobile. Welcome to the forum.

Hey theyolksonyou, thanks for the recipe! This is not the one I was looking for, but it sounds great!! Until I find the pineapply crumb recipe I'm looking for, I'll just have to try this one out!

Here's the only other cake recipe, sounds close but it's apple, not pineapple.

This recipe sounds great too!! Thank you so much for sharing! Please feel free to keep sharing recipes. I thought I had collected a lot of the green cards, but I had neither of the ones you've shared.

I believe what you are describing is a "dump" cake. I'm sorry I can't help you but you might have better luck searching for a dump cake rather than a crumb cake. ;;)Every day is a bonus day and every meal is a banquet in Winter Springs, Fl !

You can just Google "dump cake" and get lots of ideas. A very common way of making it is with cherry pie filling, canned pineapple, and pecans, I've also made a peach version. Here is one recipe that's very popular: http://www.duncanhines.com/recipes/cakes/Duncan Hines®/dump-cake/KelleyEgging with No Joke Smoke (Bruce), enjoying small town life in Brenham, TX., the home of Blue Bell Ice Cream. Thank you all so much for the ideas. That was exactly what I was looking for - a 'dump' cake!! I tried it last night and it was FABULOUS!!

I wasn't there so don't know how it compares, but I've got an easy cast iron skillet pineapple upside down cake on my blog that many people here have tried and enjoyed. It was originally developed by the wife of a fellow Egghead, @ Lake Conroe Egger if you need another recipe to look at. My pictures aren't that great, but the cake was. Maybe I'll redo the pics someday. While the recipe calls for crushed pineapples, you could also use rings. I just wanted extra extra pineapple. Regardless, hope you do find a recipe that makes you happy.

Just compared them and they are really close. My has pecans in it, but you can leave those out if you wish.
When following the directions for the cake batter, try and use some of the pineapple juice from the canned pineapple instead of the water for an extra kick of flavor.

You are more than welcome. Just trying to help out and give back. I could care less about site traffic and you'll get no free shirt or prizes or contests by visiting. My only goal is to help out others and pass on some of the stuff I've learned here and on some other forums.

sound alot like dump cake. We have always made it in the oven. Can of cherries in heavy syrup and a can of crushed pineapple. Take yellow cake mix and stick of butter and mix in bowl. Spill cherries and pineapple in 9x13 pan and put mixed yellow cake mix on top. Cook for 30 minutes until brown on top. Serve hot with a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream.Toledo, OHXL BGE (December 2014), 2 burner weber gas
