Turkey Three Ways

The whole bird: fresh 13# turkey, brined x24 hours.  butter/herb mixture under the skin.  skin brushed with olive oil and dusted with kosher salt.  Roasted indirect at 375 approx 2 hrs.

Turkey legs: no prep, just roasted indirect.

Turkey breast: wet rub (canola oil, apple juice, salt, pepper, paprika, onion, chili powder) x8 hours. smoked over oak on the weber kettle x1 hr, then finished on the egg.

Just curious- why the smoke on the kettle and not do the whole thing on the egg?

@Wolfpack‌ wife didn't want the whole turkey smoked, so I smoked the breast on the kettle. As it turned out the whole bird finished fast enough, and we ate late enough, I could have smoked on the egg. I was planning on doing the breast entirely on the weber but the egg is much easier.

Sorry to hear that!!!  You should cook a small one anyways and see which gets devoured first,.  That would be an honest to goodness taste test.
