Open front table ideas

Starting on the new table for the LBGE tomorrow morning Any ideas or suggestions? I am thinking of doing and open front with either a U cut in the granite or possibly an all the way pass thru with a piece of granite on each side for work space. The MBGE has been in a hole cutting the granite but I don't know if the large would be top heavy and tip back. Really leaning towards granite as the top but if I can find some good looking slate I amy do that.
Thanks for any ideas and suggestions

Someone on another forum built a cart with an egg and used these bars that bolted the lower band to the cart.... It's intrigued me ever since I first saw it.
I'm thinking of building a corner table, but having the egg in the corner with only a lower shift for it to sit on and these bars attaching it to the tables...
