Cover for center mounted LBGE?

Looked all over the web and cannot find anyone that sells a cover for a center table mounted egg. Anyone know where one could look for something that would work? Table is 48" wide x 24" deep with center mounted egg. Could have one made here but thought someone might sell them. Just got done scraping 3" of snow off ours so we can fire it up today.

I don't know of any, but where do you live that you got snow already? My guess you will have to have it made or you could use a tarp from your local hardware store.XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo.

My freestanding BGE's in Nests I just throw a 30 gallon 1 mil garbage bag over. The one in the table gets a garbage bag and a small tarp from the hardware store for the table. All of them get a drop cord with a 60 watt light bulb all winter to prevent egg-cracking and mold-inducing thaw/freeze condensation as well as keep them from freezing shut. The vinyl covers just exacerbate the condensation problem in my experience, winter in Minnesota.

Thanks Smitty and Maccool for the info, Did get in touch with Mel who makes covers and will see how that works, We don't usually get freeze thaw conditons here as when it gets cold it stays that way until spring. Just need something that is easy to remove and saves clearing snow from. Was wondering Maccol if you have had an egg crack from the cold temps you get there? From what I have read it usually is not a concern but you get the freeze thaw and that could create some problems with ice. This is the first winter here with the egg so will have to see how it reacts with our temps.

Could go custom. Or you could get a Sally World Universal that is okay.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Yes. Just replaced my 8 year old LBGE. The freeze/thaw comes from cooking on it. We cook all winter. It goes from below zero at night to 700 degrees while cooking, and as it cools, passing the dew point, condensation occurs. In the early or late winter/spring, even without cooking it goes from above freezing to below zero in a 24 hour period. If you've ever had mold form in your BGE then you're getting condensation which can in turn get into the pores of the ceramic, expand, and crack the egg (no glaze on the inside). IMHO, a cover just exacerbates that...no evaporation of the condensation. Best to keep the egg's internal temp above the dew point, hence the 60 watt bulb.

I went with duckcovers.com for my custom built table. Anxiously waiting for delivery so I can't comment on the quality yet. Price was reasonable. Also got a price from grillwraps.com, but they were high.

@Tspud, I've seen that bottom table/cabinet and like it, but isn't it pretty pricey? Mine is still in a nest with side tables.Tspud1 said:I have used Mel a few times. Here are some others:

Yeah, Mels covers are reasonably priced. I got in touch with him and will probably go that route. The shipping is almost the same cost as what the cover will cost but that is situation normal here in Alaska. Our shipping rates are friggin ridiculous.Looked at the Duck Covers too. Just figured I would try Mel's covers.

Tridogdude, When I talked to Mel, she was a woman

I couldn't tell that Mel was a woman when she/he emailed me back after answering all my questions. Just assumed that Mel was a guy. Thanks for letting me know that though so when I call to place the order I won't make an ass out of myself. :-O
