@mcmac I normally "DO NOT" partake in clean burns. However, I had done 0 pizzas & 0 high temp cooking that would've helped on thus arena and mostly L&S or just lower temp cooking. The crud was thick on the sides, dome, fire ring and fire box and my PS from not covering it with foil had become SUPER nasty even after scraping most of the crud off.
I didn't let it go wide open on the clean burn. I kept it under 800℉ and let it go till it burnt itself out. The next day I shop vacuumed the egg out and it was nice and clean. I typically keep pizza in cooking rotation and that alone has been enough to keep it from building up too much crud. My advice would be after a pizza cook let it rip and just let it go till it burns itself out »»» (Be Sure To Pull The Tel-Tru Thermometer).
