Pork Shoulder for Tuesday lunch

Put this 9 lb. shoulder on the LBGE 45 mins. ago. Feeding my co-workers lunch tomorrow. They said the last one I did was pretty good, but that I needed more "practice". The first time I've cooked low and slow on a cool, wet nite. Putting my faith in my egg and the DIgiQ. Gonna stay up for a while just to make sure everything stays locked in. imageimage
LBGE (still waitin' for my free T-Shirt), DIgiQ DX2 (In Blue, cause it's the fastest), Heavy Duty Kick Ash Basket, Mc Farland, WI. :glasses:  B)
If it wasn't for my BGE I'd have no use for my backyard...

Looking good. Since you are local to me (Sun Prairie) it would be interesting to find more eggers in the area for a possible cooking meat festival.

Checked @ 7am and everything looks good. Egg holding steady at 240. The shoulder is at 185. image

  • Looking good @XC242, hope it tasted awesome!

@jrb06 I recently relocated back to Madison (well, Middleton...) and have been trying to scare up the locals as well. I feel like we need to have a big get together and make all those southern boys jealous!

    Cheers all -

  • I think they are telling you that you need more practice so that you will keep cooking for them! It sure does look good.

That's what I'm thinking too @johnkitchens. @Black_Badger I received that message you sent me but things have been hectic and haven't had a chance to get back to you yet... Thanks guys.

Yup, it was predictable - they liked it but said I need more "practice" and they're more than happy to help me get better. Funny thing though, not one of them could tell me what needs to be improved...

They hope you will keep bringing it. If you enjoy it and don't mind you might as well. You are going to be the most popular guy in the office soon!
