Question ab travelling with vegetables

I have a 10 lb bag of fresh green chiles that I would like to carry on the plane with me. Anyone know if this will be an issue with TSA? They are going to be in a trash bag inside of a duffle/gym bag.

Ps...here's a pic of them!

Depends where from & where to I guess.

Not to get technical, but according to chemistry alcohol is a solution...

  • should be fine within the continental US...anything passing through customs or agriculture inspection (Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico) may have issues.

In case anyone cares, I had 0 problems carrying on the bag of green chiles. In fact, I spent 3 hours last night roasting them on the egg:

Interesting question.  California has agriculture checkpoints on all major roads leading into the state from Oregon, Nevada, & Arizona and they will basically confiscate any fresh produce (or let you consume it before proceeding).  but I've never seen them check airline passengers upon arrival.
