Just started my egg table

I just started my egg table. As you can see I have almost completed the frame. 2x4 for the frame joined together with the awesome Kreg Jig system. I plan on adding a drawer and cabinet on the right side.

Nice looking table! Please make sure you use a table nest or some planter feet under your egg to create an air gap.Bristow Virginia XL&Mini One of the best feelings in life is watching other people enjoy the food I cooked!

Thanks George. I have seen the damage they can create without a gap.

Looks good, what will you finish the wood with?

Nice looking table right there..

Installed a drawer and a cabinet door. Only thing left to do is seal it, cut the hole, and put the egg in. Hopefully by this weekend I'll be grilling!

@grege345 the distance is 15 inches

Your cart looks great. I'm about to start one myself. I see you used pocket hole screws for the rough construction. I would like to do the same but afraid the joints won't be strong enough (like with tenons, lag bolts, or lap joints). Did the frame rack at all with the Kreg screws? Thanks, Mike
-
@mbg the table is as strong as anything. Frame does not move. I was really surprised at the Kreg and how strong it holds. I used 2x4's for the frame and the blue coarse 2 1/2 Kreg screws to put it together. Two screws on each end of the 2x4's. I did purchase the additional 90 degree hole clamp and it was well worth it to hold the pieces tight while screwing. Good luck with your table, feel free to ask any other questions you might have.

are you using the egg before you get the granite and possibly some air spacers/risers to protect that wood.

@BigWader, no! I just picked up and installed Green Egg table stand yesterday and I also plan to buy a tile for underneath also.
