First Jucy Lucy- and fried egg!

From Labor Day... Finally decided to try a Jucy Lucy. Had a pound of 73/27 ground beef. Made normal patty. Then made two more smaller 1/4 lb patties and put sharp cheddar between them. Got some mushrooms and onions carmelizing in a CI skillet on the stove. Another first, saw a forum brother put bacon on the grid, so I got that going. Nice crispy bacon! Then did the two burgers to 120F on my themapen and pulled. Went in a got the mushies and onions out of the skillet and thought "why not try an egg over easy?" So I threw one in the hot skillet. Piled the bacon, mushies and onions on Lucy, bacon and egg on straight cheeseburger. Holy shiite! The egg was so amazing! And the Jucy cheese inside was killer! Very happy man...

Thanks for the post. For some reason I have yet to ever try a fried egg on a burger...I don't know why I haven't...looks good...do you fry it until the yolk is solid? I like runny yolks but guess that could be too messy, huh?

@RRP yep did it over easy, so runny. It was messy but, dang, what a yummy mess!Lovin' my Large Egg since May 2012 (Richmond, VA) ... and makin' cookbooks at https://FamilyCookbookProject.com

Gotta give it a go! Very good, and I never understood why people would till I tried. And it plays nicely with bacon too ;-)RRP said:Thanks for the post. Nice! That is one of my favorite burgers right there. Absolutely love putting an over easy fried egg on the burger.
