It's the Eastside of the Bighorn Mountains. The first picture was taken from my parking lot at work. I just took this picture from my front porch when I got home. Great start to my vacation.

I've lived in California, Oregon, Georgia, Colorado, Texas, and Germany and I must say, Wyoming is the nicest place that I've ever lived. Of course I can say this on such a beautiful day, but when it hits -20°, I might have a different story.

I work at the VA hospital. I was stationed in Wyoming on one of my last assignments in the Army before I retired. So after moving all over the place in the Army, we decided to come back and reside in Wyoming. Fair cost of living, no traffic, no state income tax, great view and I could go on and on. What more can a guy ask for?

We don't get many of those 100° days and hopefully were done with those for the year. We get really screwy weather here in the fall and spring. You can start out the day shoveling snow and change into shorts in the afternoon or vice versa. A few people reported that the mountains got snow last night. We probably won't get snow at my elevation until October. Even then it won't last a day or two.

Hang in there, hopefully all the wonderful people we vote into office to represent us will fix this healthcare nightmare.
