Time to make the Egg Illegal?

Tonight's effort was two 1.75 kg chickens and a piece of Canadian bacon. Cooked for an hour at 375 with the Platesetter in. I've usually avoided cooking whole chicken on the gas BBQ because they end up dry and tough. On the Egg they came out so juicy, truly the best chicken ever. Along with the chicken, I cooked potatoes with chives and Asparagus. The Asparagus was lightly brushed with olive oil, fresh lemon juice squeezed over it & then a little fresh ground black pepper. Haven't tried the bacon yet but, based on previous cooks, it too will be tender and juicy.

2 months in and food off the Egg is becoming addictive. Cooking on the Egg is certainly not substance abuse although the Wychwood Hobgoblin dark ruby ale may be. I've been using Costco sugar maple hardwood lump and it is certainly good value for money, no discernible difference from BGE lump at about one third of the price.

Ontario, Canada. XL BGE, Napoleon Gasser

I have been Egging for 3 months now and I'm in the same boat! I use to think the eggers were just saying "how good food is " because they owned one but it really is an addictive problem. I love it and see no end in sight! Happy Egging!

I should have said that the chickens were rubbed with garlic olive oil, Mrs Dash Herb & Garlic & fresh ground black pepper.

It is certainly addictive. I used to never sit in my office and look forward to grilling on my gas or charcoal grills.

I have a hard time going more than 2-3 nights without egging. Vacations get tough, lol. I think most people look forward to a week without cooking.

at least one of my BGE's is fired up three times per week, and I feel as though they are being neglected for lack of use.  Honestly, I could cook on the BGE every day, and want to try new things like cakes, pies, bread, etc.-stay tuned as i'll be putting updates here.  I was afraid of making pizza before and now I look forward to it.  A long-term low heat cook of pork shoulder and or brisket is so rewarding and easy to accomplish with the Big Green Egg.

Come on BGE, get the MiniMax out the  door!  this is worse than waiting for that skateboard I wanted for Christmas when I was 10.

After 1.5 years of ownership, I'm still hooked. I do grow tired of cooking the same things, so to compensate I try to vary cooking approaches and seasonings. I guess I'm striving for perfection.

I have not but would be interested is seeing that. I have not fully explored the seafood possibilities on the egg. Much to learn.

@Terrebandit - I'm not used to my octopus being discussed in public like this. I just like to play with it sometimes...
