Rainy day here, #2 son and I are collaborating on dinner tonight. A Rosemary Grilled Pork loin from Raichlin's Barbecue Bible, crispy new potatoes from Serious Eats, and some sauteed cauliflower. Only the pork will be cooked on the egg (on the small with Apple for smoke). Arcade Fire is playing on the Bose, an Imperial dark rye ale is in the glasses. More pics will follow.

Looks like we have a winner. Here is an unsolicited tip that another fellow egghead recommended to me:If you like using apple wood with your pork, you should try pear wood."You can live in any city in America, but New Orleans is the only city that lives in you."Chris Rose

I actually have a bunch of pear wood, thanks to a neighbor who lost a tree last winter. Happened to choose the apple for this one, but I have used the pear once or twice. Thanks for the tip!nolan8v said:Looks like we have a winner. Here is an unsolicited tip that another fellow egghead recommended to me:If you like using apple wood with your pork, you should try pear wood.XLBGE, Small BGE, Homebrew and GuitarsRochester, NY -
Coming right along. IT is 118, potatoes are in the oven @ 500 deg, I will end up pulling and foiling this to rest until the sides are ready

All done, Dinner was great!
Sauteeing Cauliflower and brown butter with garlic
Lemon zest, parsley and Chives for the potatoes
Sides complete
The main event
Plated and paired with a home brewed IPAI have to say, the pork was really good but not stellar. I forgot to add salt and pepper to the pesto stuffing, so I don't think the rosemary and garlic permeated the meat as much as they would have particularly with the salt. Still had a great time cooking and eating tonight!XLBGE, Small BGE, Homebrew and GuitarsRochester, NY -
